Hattiesburg, MS - Following his recruiting visit earlier this month Houston Express (TX) midfielder Alfredo Gallegos signed to play as a Crusader beginning the 2015 season. Gallegos is a high school senior but will take two years out to complete missionary work before attending Carey in the fall of 2015.

Belfast, N.Ireland - Barry Johnston suffered a horrific leg break that threatened his soccer playing future. His injury needed a steel plate and nine steel pins inserted in his leg. It appeared his career which had seen him play as a member of the world famous Celtic boys, was likely over.

Hattiesburg, MS - T.J. Sharp formerly of Ocean Springs H.S. and the Gulf Coast United soccer club is finally a Crusader. He will transfer from Pearl River Community College.

Berwick, England - Former Crusader skipper and 2012 graduate Jonathan Fairbairn is currently turning out for Scottish League team Berwick Rangers.

Hattiesburg, MS - The Crusaders men's soccer team gifted more than 30 soccer balls to the Mississippi Ball Project today. Sparkle Polk was on hand to represent and receive the gift on behalf of the Ball Project. The balls were provided in partnership with Uhlsport and the Sports Source of Dallas, Texas. The balls will be distributed to children in need as Christmas gifts.

Kansas City, MO - The NAIA announced the selection of sophomore midfielder Luis Trude as a 2nd team All-American today. Also awarded Honorable Mention as an All-American was junior defender Johannes Forstpointner. Both players were previously named as Southern States Athletic Conference All-First Team selections. Trude (Sao Paulo, Brazil) was also the Crusaders Champion of Character Award winner for 2012. Forstpointner is from Burghausen, Germany. Both players are majoring in business.

Hattiesburg, MS - NAIA All-American selection So. Luis Trude (Sao Paulo, Brazil) was voted the Crusader's Most Valuable Player for 2012/13 by his team members for the second consecutive year. Trude was also named to the SSAC First Team All-Conference team and also a member of the SSAC All-Academic Team. Along with his NAIA All-American recognition he was named the Crusader's NAIA Champion of Character award winner. Year end awards were handed out Friday on campus at William Carey University.
Hattiesburg, MS - The annual spring alumni soccer game was played as part of the Homecoming celebrations on Saturday. A strong alumni team managed to hold the Crusaders to a 1-1 tie at the half but the younger, fitter current team ran away comfortable winners in the end.
Hattiesburg, MS - William Carey men's soccer has announced the signing of New Zealander Mitchell Blair. The Kiwi midfielder was recommended to Coach Nigel Boulton by former Crusader player and alumnus Andy Barron, the New Zealand international who played in the 2010 World Cup for his country.
