Courtnie Prather enters her sixth season as an assistant coach for the William Carey University Soccer program, three of which were with the men's program under the tutelage of Head Men's Soccer Coach, Nigel Boulton. After which, Prather joined the coaching ranks of the women's program, as an assistant to Head Coach Danny Owens. Under Coach Owens' tenure, Prather has aided the program to three winning seasons, two Regional Tournament appearances, including an undefeated season in 2007, a national tournament Elite 8 appearance in 2008, while capturing back-to-back regular season and tournament Conference Championships and posting a #16 NAIA National Ranking. Prather is involved in every aspect of the program including recruiting, marketing and promotions, fundraising, scouting opponents, day-to-day operations, assists the head coach with all on-field coaching, including goalkeeper training, and is the team's strength and conditioning coach. Courtnie also serves as the camp director for both the men's and women's soccer programs.
 
Prather serves as the Director of Goalkeeper training for the Hattiesburg Youth Soccer Association (2004 - present) and is the camp director for both the youth recreational and select soccer programs. She has worked with the U-12 squad, spent one year with the U-13 state team and served one year as an assistant for the U-15 state team.
     
Originally from San Antonio, TX, Prather, as a former Trojan Women's Soccer starting player, was recognized as a top all-time goalkeeper in career goals against average and career saves at the University of Arkansas - Little Rock.  At, William Carey, Prather completed her career as the starting goalkeeper, finishing amongst the nations top goalkeepers in goals against per game and saves per game categories.
     
Prather earned her bachelor's degree in Psychology from William Carey in 2007, and is currently working towards her master's degree in the field of Child and Adolescent Psychology. Between her stints at UALR and WCU, Prather spent seven years in the United States Air Force and National Guard.
     
Courtnie currently holds NSCAA goalkeeping I and II certificates and a U.S. Soccer Federation (USSF) "D" license.
