Professional Coaching History:

Coach Boulton was hired by William Carey University (then College) in March of 2003 and was named G.C.A.C. Coach of the Year in his first season in charge. The Crusaders were ranked as high as #6 in the national polls in 2004. In 2007 they won the G.C.A.C. championship and the following year won the regular season championship and were runners-up in the tournament finishing 2008 ranked at #25 in the nation. Boulton also won his second conference Coach of the Year award in 2008. Previous to Carey he had served the Mississippi Youth Soccer Association as its statewide Director of Coaching from 1998.

Before arriving in Mississippi, Boulton was head coach of the Worcester Wildfire near Boston, MA in the professional A-League. The Wildfire were the farm team for the New England Revolution of Major League Soccer. Before moving north Boulton had served as executive director and director of coaching for the Arkansas State Soccer Association. Bill Clinton appointed him to the Governor's Council on Physical Fitness & Sports in 1994 until he left for Boston in 1997.

During his two stints as a statewide DOC the United States Soccer Federation named Boulton a national scout for the Project 2010 program and as a national course instructor for the training of coaches. He was also a member of the Olympic Development Program regional and state staff for many years.

A native of Cardiff in Wales, Boulton played for Sully A.F.C. a three-time Wales Premier League champion and three time Senior Cup Winner. He also coached the club to a #2 ranking in 1989 his final year in Wales and also led the South Wales representative team (All-Star) to back-to-back J.J. Baily Trophy wins against English league opposition in 1988 & 89. He was appointed a District Coach for the F.A. of Wales the same year before accepting a position with Soccer USA.

Coach Boulton moved to the U.S. in 1990 and is married to Elizabeth (formerly Grassby) and has three grown daughters Kirstie, Lyndsey and Leanne. The couple live in Oak Grove with their dog Lola.
