Wendy Hogue is set to begin her ninth season at the reigns of the Lady Crusader softball program.  During her time at WCU, Hogue has built the Lady Crusaders into a national power. The Lady Crusaders have captured two Gulf Coast Athletic Conference titles, two Southern States Athletic Conference West Division Regular Season titles, a Southern States Athletic Confernce overall title, made five straight appearances in the NAIA National Tournament, and she has coached seven All Americans.

Last season was another great year for the Lady Crusaders as they posted a 50-11 record, were ranked as high as #5 in the NAIA Polls, captured the Southern States Athletic Conference Title, and advanced to the Elite Eight at the NAIA National Tournament for the third straight year.

Hogue was named GCAC Coach of the Year in 2009, SSAC Coach of the Year in 2011, and NFCA East Region Coaching Staff of the Year in 2009, 2011, and 2012.

Hogue first arrived at Carey in 1995 and played on the inaugural team under current Baylor head coach Glenn Moore. While at Carey, Hogue excelled on the field and in the classroom and was the recipient of numerous awards for both.  Hogue graduated Summa Cum Laude in 1998 with a Bachelors of Science in Education. In 2008 she earned her Masters Degree in education as well.

Hogue's coaching career began as an assistant coach for slow-pitch softball in 1998 at Petal High School. In 2000, Hogue became the first head coach for fast pitch softball at Petal. In her five years with the Lady Panthers, her teams reached the playoffs each year and won two district titles.
