Steve Knight has served as Head Men's Basketball coach since the summer of 1982. Knight first arrived at Carey in the spring of 1981 as a Graduate Assistant Baseball Coach in charge of the pitching staff.

In 1981-82, he was a GA for both men's basketball and baseball, and was named then Head Men's Basketball Coach at the age of 25. He is entering his 29th season as basketball coach and his teams have compiled 506 victories and fourteen 20+ win seasons, captured six GCAC Championships, six District 30 Championships, and has competed in seven NAIA National Tournaments. Knight has coached five NAIA All-Americans including an NAIA National Player of the Year.

In 1988 Knight was named Athletic Director. During his tenure as Athletics Director, William Carey athletic teams have captured 33 Gulf Coast Athletic Conference championships and earned 20 trips to NAIA National Tournaments. Knight was named the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Athletics Director of the Year in 2001-02, 2003-04, and 2004-05 and was selected as the NAIA Region XIII AD of the Year in 2003-04 and 2005-06. He was also named as the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) 2005-06 General Sports Turf Systems Athletics Director of the Year - NAIA Southeast Region.

Knight has served as the President of the GCAC form 2001-08 and was President of the NABC-NAIA Men's Basketball Coaches Association in 2002-03.

A graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi (B.S.- 1979) as well as William Carey College (M ED - 1982), he was selected to the USM M-Club Letterman's Hall of Fame in 2002. After graduation from college, he spent two seasons in the Seattle Mariner Baseball Organization and led the 1979 California League Championship team in saves. His former minor league roommate, Bud Black, is currently the manager for the San Diego Padres.

Knight has been married to wife Regina for 31 years, and they have two daughters (Shanna - 28; Lindsay - 15) and two grandson's (Christian -8; Brayden -1).

Tracy English has served as the Assistant Coach for Men's Basketball since 1988 and is entering his twenty-seventh season. English has also served as the Head Coach for Women's Basketball since 1990. Entering his twenty-first season for Women's Basketball, English has compiled over 300 wins, won three Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Championships, and earned three berths to the NAIA National Championship.

English was a standout athlete at Hattiesburg High in both men's basketball and track. Following high school, English spent a year at Mississippi State University before arriving at Carey in the fall of 1981. A standout guard for the Crusaders, English helped Carey to two District 30 Championships, one GCAC championship, and two trips to the NAIA National Tournament.

Following his playing career, English served as graduate assistant for men's basketball from 1984 till 1987. After a one year hiatus he returned as the full time assistant for men's basketball in 1988.   As an assistant English has been apart of five GCAC championships, four District 30 championship, and five NAIA National Tournament appearances.

English earned is Bachelors' Degree in Physical Education in 1984 and completed his Master Degree of Education in 1990.  English also serves as an instructor in the school of education.

English has two son's Kyle (31) and Blaine (25).
