Clinton, MS- William Carey men's cross country finished in seventh place in the Mississippi College Season Opener at Choctaw Trails. Today's meet was the first ever cross country event for William Carey University.   
Freshman Channing Stringer paced the Crusaders finishing in 27th place with a time of 18:47.48 in the 5K event. A total of 74 runners competed in today's meet.  Grambling State's Darwin Price took top honors with a time of 15:55.85. Grambling State was the meet's overall champions with a time of 1 hour 24 minutes 26 seconds
The Crusaders are back in action on September 11th as they travel to New Orleans, LA, to take part in the Loyola Invitational.
