Brownsville, Texas- Jackie DeNova recorded seven saves however  No. 9 William Carey could only manage one goal as they battle University of Texas-Brownsville to a 1-1 tie.

After a scoreless first half, the Lady Scorpions Isadora Freitas broke the ice with the game's first goal in the 60th minute of play. Carey answered back as Natalia Nino headed home a Jessica Salas pass in the 65th minute to tie the match. Over the final twenty minutes of regulation WCU missed several opportunities to pull ahead and the game headed in overtime.

Neither team threatened the first overtime but in the second overtime DeNova came up with a key save to preserve the tie.

WCU will return to action next Friday as they travel to Pulaski, TN, to take on Union College (KY).
