Gulfport, MS - The Crusader men's soccer team completed a superb Saturday of events by downing the Spring Hill Badgers by a 5-0 scoreline. The game was the culmination to a weekend of practice, games and the induction of former head coach Doug Stovall onto the men's soccer Wall of Fame. The Crusaders spent Friday training on the coast including a session on the beach and an indoor session at the new indoor soccer facility at the Mississippi Coast Sports Pavillion in Gautier. On Saturday morning they trained at the County Farm soccer fields before two games at the Gulfport Sportsplex that evening. In the morning they also helped train the Mississippi Coast Dynamo youth players as part of a community partnership. After defeating the alumni team 3-2 at 5.00pm the Crusaders turned around a defeated the Badgers at 7.00pm. Coach Boulton was pleased with the weekend. "We took a chance training hard and playing two games back to back but the strength of the squad is such that we were able to pull it off. Once again the alumni frightened the life out of us. The games just get more and more competitive. I can't thank them enough, I say it every year but I mean it, they play a large part in our preparation for each and every upcoming season. The weekend was a part of fostering closer ties to local communities along the coast and in the Pine Belt. The Dynamo's Natalie Colle helped arrange and organize the events and many thanks go to her as well,"
