HATTIESBURG, MS - William Carey women's tennis coach Christoph Schaefer has added former JCJC and Wayne Academy standout Tiffany Hudson to a grant-in-aid scholarship for the 2010-11 school year.
A graduate of Wayne AcadŽemy in Waynesboro, Hudson has played tennis for the last two years at Jones County Junior College in Ellisville.During her freshman year, Hudson was the No. 5 singles state champions, and during her just completed sophomore campaign, she was the No. 3 singles state champion.
In addition, she recently reached the quarterfinals of the NJCAA National-Tennis Championships before ending up eighth in the nation at the event. Hudson's Elite Eight finŽish in her bracket help lead JCJC to a No. 18 finish in the national tournament held earlier this month.
Academically, Hudson was recently presented with JCJC's Presidential Scholar-Athlete Award for females after having the highest grade point average of among all JCJC student-athletes for the entire year.
