Hattiesburg, MS- Despite outshooting the Lady Rams 18 to 8, #13 William Carey was unable to find the net and Mobile took advantage of some Lady Crusaders miscue to hand the Lady Crusaders their first home loss since September 2006.

A slow start plagued the Lady Crusaders early, then Mobile keeper Anna Maddox became a thorn in Carey's side as she made several spectacular saves especially in the first twenty minutes of the second half.

Carey's slow start allowed Mobile to jump out early with a goal from  Aislinn Finfrock in the fourth minute of play. The game seemed destined to go into the half with Lady Rams up 1-0 but Beka Grippa caught the Lady Crusaders napping and slipped through for the second Lady Ram goal.

Carey opened the second half determined to even things and launched a relentless offensive attack but Maddox was up to the task in the goal for the Lady Rams. Mobile broke Carey's back in the 73rd minute as Danielle Byrd headed home a corner kick to up the ante to 3-0. Terri McCreadie finished off the Lady Crusaders with a goal in the 80th minute.  "It was one of those games tonight where nothing went our way.  We created some great chances, but we could not find the back of the net.  Mobile's keeper was outstanding tonight and I have to give credit for the entire Mobile team and the way they played.  We just got beat tonight," said a deflated Coach Owens.

The loss snaps the Lady Crusaders current 12 game winning streak and 20 game home winning streak.  "I think you always want to come out and win for your Seniors on the night you honor them.  They have had a great 4 years and have accomplished a lot.  This class were Freshman in my first year, so there will always be that special place in my heart for this group of players.   We have to regroup and get back to doing things the way we are supposed to.  We have lost that hunger and have to find it again if we are going to win the Conference Tournament and continue our season," continued Coach Owens.

The Lady Crusaders return to action next week as they host the 2008 Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Tournament.  Tournament pairing and games time to be released at a later date.
