Jim Roseberry- picked up the win in GCAC tournament opener
Jackson, Miss. - The William Carey offense tallied fourteen hits and sophomore Jim Roseberry scattered three runs and six hits as WCU knocked off Spring Hill College 13-3 in the opening game of the 2010 Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Tournament on Thursday afternoon at Smith-Wills Stadium.
      
WCU jumped all over Badgers starter David Dupuy (3-6) scoring Three runs off one hit, an error and two walks in the 1st inning and then erupting for a 6-run 3rd inning to build out a 9-0 advantage.
     
Jason Terrell provided the big hit for WCU in the 1st with a 2-RBI single up the middle while six Crusaders collected hits in the 3rd frame.
     
Josh Dannelley tripled to right center to drive in three runs for Carey with one out in the bottom of the 7th inning to end the game via the 10-run "Mercy Rule."

 
 
WCU was led at the plate by Jordan Prout, Jacob Casey and Ian Sharp who each rapped out three hits for the Crusaders.

Carey is back in action tomorrow night as they take on No. 12 LSU-Shreveport. The Pilots advanced this afternoon with a 10-4 win over Mobile. During the regular season LSUS took 4 of 6 from the Crusaders. First pitch is slated for 6:00 pm at Smith Wills Stadium.
