Hattiesburg, MS- Sophomore outfielder Casey Alexander has been named GCAC Softball Player of the Week for the week ending May 1st.

Alexander was instrumental in the Lady Crusaders run to the 2010 GCAC tournament title hitting .550 with two triples and two doubles.  After defeating No. 20 Mobile 3-1 on Thursday the Lady Crusaders dropped the first game on Friday to No. 5 Belhaven 2-1. From there the Lady Crusaders battled back defeating Mobile 5-2 and then knocking off Belhaven twice in the championship round to capture the title.

William Carey advances to the NAIA Unaffiliated Conference Tournament in Charleston, West Virginia. The Lady Crusaders will take on SUNY- Canton in a three game series beginning on May 6th at 1:00 pm.
