Hattiesburg, MS- William Carey University Head Men's Basketball Coach Steve Knight has announced the signing of two high school standouts, Jaron Edwards of Bowling Green (Franklinton, LA) and Doug Lamb of Oak Grove (MS).

Edwards, a 6-4 guard, averaged 22.7 points, 9 rebounds and 8 steals per game during his senior season. He was a 1st team Mississippi Association of Independent Schools (MAIS) selection and was recently named as the MAIS Player of the Year for 2009-10. He was named to numerous all tournament teams including the All MAIS Overall State Tournament Team and was selected to play in the MAIS All Star Game.

Lamb, a 6-0 guard, averaged 13 points, 3 rebounds and 9 assists per game for Oak Grove. He shot 50% from the three point line and was an All District performer.

"Both of these young men will help replace some of the depth we lost at the guard position", said Knight. "They are quality young men, good basketball players and strong academically. We look forward to having them in our program during the next four seasons."

Edwards and Lamb join 6-2 PG Stefan Sartoria (Serbia) in this year's recruiting class. The Crusaders lost five players from the 2009-10 team that finished with a 23-8 overall record, but return 12 players for the 2010-11 season. Included in the group of returnees are 4 starters, 3 who were named to the All Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Team in 2009-10.
