Melanie Bush- picked up complete game win in game two against Mobile
Gulf Shores, AL- No. 16 William Carey managed a split on day two of the 2010 GCAC Softball Tournament falling to No. 5 Belhaven, 2-1 and defeating No.20 Mobile, 5-2  Friday afternoon at the Gulf Shores Sportsplex.

Game One- Belhaven vs WCU

An untimely error and a pair of costly wild pitches were devastating to the Lady Crusaders. WCU opened a 1-0 lead with a run in the second inning. In the fourth, Belhaven's Tiffany Ansley doubled and would eventually advance to third on a wild pitch. A single by Heather Pace tied the game at 1-1. In the fifth, a WCU error and another wild pitch helped the Lady Blazers plate the winning run.
Kelsey Jo Smith was tagged with the loss allowing four hits and two runs in four innings of work.
Game Two- Mobile vs WCU
WCU opened a 2-0 lead courtesy of an RBI triple by Jeana Erickson in the first and a Lady Ram error in the third. Mobile trimmed the lead to 2-1 on a sacrifice fly by Kristyn Joiner in the bottom of the sixth but in the top of the 7th Judy Barber gave WCU some wiggle room as she ripped a two run single to center to extend the lead to 4-1. Carey would push across another run on a Mobile error to extend the margin to 5-1.
Mobile would not go quietly as they led off the inning with back to back singles. Following a pop out to third, Tess Ackerman ripped an RBI singld to right to trim the lead to 5-2. However, Senior Melanie Bush would settle down and get back to back pop outs to end the game.
Bush picked up the win in a complete game effort. Casey Alexander led WCU at the plate going 3 for 4 with two runs scored.
The Crusaders will face Belhaven University in the Championship Round of the 2010 GCAC Softball Tournament. The Crusaders will need to defeat the Lady Blazers twice tomorrow to capture the GCAC title.
