Kansas City, Mo- National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced that 120 Division I women's basketball players have been named 2009-10 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes and making the list for William Carey is Senior Britta Stephens.
Stephens, a transfer from Delta State & Mississippi College, has been a three starter for the Lady Crusaders. The Jayees, MS, native has completed a Bachelor's Degree in English and a Masters Degree in English Education. In May she will complete a second Master's Degree in Secondary Education. To date Stephens has maintained a perfect 4.0 grade point average. This is the second time Stephens has been named a NAIA Scholar Athlete (2009).
Nominated by each institution's head coach, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and have achieved junior academic status to qualify.
