Hattiesburg, MS- Anna Ard picked up were Alyssa Boutwell left off in game one, firing five scoreless innings and the WCU offense plated a season high 17 runs as No. 6 William Carey completed the double header sweep by knocking off Grand View College, 17-0 in game two.
The Lady Crusaders took full advantage of a shaky start from Grand View's Stacia Miller. Miller walked the first three batters to load the bases and Jeana Erickson cleared them with an RBI double off the center field wall. A hit batter and another walk loaded the bases again and this time it was Nikki Sanders that came through with an RBI single to make 4-0. A passed ball followed which allowed Missy Paulina to score to put WCU up 5-0 before an out was recorded. Casey Alexander capped the first inning onslaught with a three run double to left to put Carey up 8-0.
WCU plated seven runs in the second inning getting RBI singles from Shana Gunter and Kelsey Jo Smith, a two run single from Casey Alexander and a monster three run home run from Judy Barber to make it 15-0. Courtney Murray capped the scoring with a two run single in the third.

The Lady Crusaders will take on Grace College on Thursday and then welcome six teams to Joseph & Nancy Fail Field for the William Carey Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
William Woods University, Southern Nazarene University, Grace College, Dillard University, Belhaven University, University of Mobile, and WCU will compete in the invitational. Seven games will be played each day starting at 10:00 am. Visit
