Hattiesburg, MS- William Carey dropped the opening game of a three game non-conference series with Union University falling to the Bulldogs to 8-4.

Union plated three runs in the third and one each in the fifth and sixth inning. Carey trimmed the lead to 5-2 with two runs in the sixth but Union promptly answered with a three run seventh and never looked back.

WCU and Union conclude their three game series with a double header beginning at noon on Saturday.
