Hattiesburg, MS- Junior Drew Meyerchick and sophomores Brandon Cooks and Cory Smith have been named to the 2009-10 GCAC Men's Basketball All Conference team as voted on by league coaches.
Meyerchick, a junior from Franklinton, LA, averaged 13.4 points per game and 2.9 rebounds per game. Meyerchick led the Crusaders in three point field goals made (65), three point field goals attempted (164), and free throw percentage.
Cooks, a sophomore from Thibodaux, LA, averaged 16.2 points per game and 8.8 rebounds per game. Cooks led Carey in points (470), points per game (16.2),field goals made (159), field goals attempted (344), free throws made (114), free throws attempted (164), blocks (34), rebounds (255), and rebounds per game (8.8). Cooks was also named GCAC Newcomer of the Year.
Smith, a sophomore from Pleasant Grove, AL, averaged 13.4 points per game and 5.0 rebounds per game. Smith led Carey in field goal percentage (61%) and free throws attempted (164).
