Jackson, TN- Another shaky start by William Carey pitching followed by six fielding errors was too much for the Crusaders to overcome as they fall Union, 9-2.

Union jumped all over the Crusaders early with two first inning runs.  Three walks, a hit-by-pitch and a fielder's choice produced the two runs without the benefit of a hit. Clint Barnes got Union's first hit with a double in the second. He then scored on an error.

Trailing 3-0, William Carey got into the scoring column with two runs in the third. An RBI double from Jacob Casey and a sacrifice fly from Daniel Covert capped off the scoring for the Crusaders.
Union answered with three more runs in the third, followed by single runs in each the fourth, fifth and sixth innings. Union scored at least one run in each of the first six innings.

Skylor Burts (0-1) took the loss, pitching only one-third of an inning to start the game. Three William Carey pitchers combined to allow just six Union hits, but handed out four walks and seven hit batters.

Carey is back in action on Friday as they host the University of Mobile in GCAC play. First pitch is set for 4:00 pm at Milton Wheeler Field.
