Alexandria, LA-  Judy Barber belted two homeruns and Jeana Erickson had three extra base hits as #6 William Carey improved to 3-2 on the season with a 13-9 victory over LSU-Alexandria.

The reigning GCAC Player of the Week, Judy Barber, opened the scoring for the Lady Crusaders with a two run homer in the first inning. The Carey lead ballooned to 5-0 as Barber smacked another two run homer and Erickson followed with a solo shot in the third inning. LSUA trimmed the lead to 6-4 with a four spot in the fourth inning but Carey answered in the fifth as Nikki Sanders ripped a three run double in a five run inning to put the Lady Crusaders up 11-4.

Melanie Bush earned the win working 3 2/3 inning allowing six hits and four runs.

Game two between Carey and LSUS was called after the first inning due to rain.

The Lady Crusaders open the home portion of the 2010 schedule on Friday as they take on Judson College at Fail Field. First pitch is set for 3:00 pm.
