New Orleans, LA- No. 18 William Carey dropped their second straight GCAC contest as they fall at Southern University New Orleans, 99-81 at the Castle.

SUNO torched the Carey defense shooting 57% from the floor.  The Knights opened with a 22-11 run over the first twelve minutes and never looked back. SUNO held a 47-30 lead at the break and led by as many as 22 in the second half.

 

Brandon Cooks led four Crusaders in double figures with 19 points. Marcus Spann finished with 17 points and Cory Smith added 16. Drew Meyerchick chipped in with 11 points.

Lionel Green led SUNO 32 points and 9 rebounds.

Carey is back in action on Thursday in a key game in GCAC play as they take on Tougaloo College. Tip-off is set for 7:30 pm at Kroger Gym.
