Montgomery, AL- #6 William Carey's bats finally came to life as they take both games in the Faulkner Tournament today, trouncing Thomas University, 20-2 and rolling past #16 Lee University 6-3.

In game one, Thomas jumped out on Carey 2-1 after the first inning. The score remained the same until the sixth inning and then the Carey offense erupted. Grand Slams from Shana Gunter and Jeana Erickson ignited a Carey offense that scored 19 runs over the final two innings.  Alyssa Boutwell was solid on the hill working five innings allowing two runs and striking out four.

In game two, the Carey offense continued to roll getting three hits from Erickson and home runs from Nikki Sanders and Judy Barber in a 6-3 win. Anna Ard allowed three runs and struck out eight in a complete game effort.

Carey is back in action on Tuesday as they travel to Alexandria, LA, to take on LSU-Alexandria.
