Hattiesburg, MS- William Carey went stone cold from the floor in the second half as they fall to Xavier University, 71-56 Saturday night at Clinton Gym.

Carey diced their way through the Xavier press in the opening 20 minutes. The Lady Crusaders shot 61% from the floor and only committed 8 turnovers in opening a 29-26 lead at the break. The second half was much different as the Lady Crusaders time and time again shot their selves in the in the foot missing lay-ups and open jumpers. Xavier on the other hand was on fire. The Lady Gold Nuggets connected on 15 of 25 field goals and was 13 of 14 at the foul line as they raced past the Lady Crusaders.

Consuela Tucker led all scorers with 21 points.

Carey begins a three game road trip on Thursday as they take on the University of Mobile. Tip-off is set for 5:30 pm at Pharr Gym.
