Hattiesburg, MS- Martin Methodist's Fernando Barbeiro's goal in the 85th minute propelled the Redhawks past No. 9 William Carey, 2-1 in the opening round of the 2009 NAIA National Tournament.

The Crusaders jumped out in front early as Carl Reynolds knocked home Rick Beebe cross in the 13th minute. The Redhawks answered back in the 38th minute as Fernando Andrade scored to level the game 1-1.

Carey had several opportunities to go back in front but Redhawks keeper James Coleman was up to the challenge. Coleman saved seven shots in the second half to keep the Crusaders at bay and set the stage for Barbeiro's game winner in the 85th minute.

Carey finishes the 2009 season with a 13-4-3 record.
