Mobile, AL- No.4 William Carey secured the number one seed in the 2009 GCAC playoffs by knocking off the University of Mobile, 2-1 Saturday night in Mobile.

With the win Carey completes GCAC play with a 4-0 record.

The Lady Crusaders opened a 1-0 halftime off an Aimi Beresford free kick in the 42nd minute. Missy Stovall evened the score with a goal in the 61st minute. Carey answered back in the 67th minute as Jeana Erickson headed home the game winner off an Aimi Beresford pass. Jackie DeNova recorded three of her five saves in the second half to secure the win.

With the win Carey improves to 15-1-1 on the season.

The Lady Crusaders open the GCAC Playoffs on Thursday November 5th as they take on the winner of Spring Hill and LSUS. Kick-off is set for 7:00 pm at Crusaders Field.
