Shreveport, LA- No.7 William Carey imporved to 2-0 in GCAC play by defeating LSU-Shreveport 6-0 Saturday afternoon in Shreveport.

The Lady Crusaders wasted no time getting on the board with a goal at the 4th minute from Jeana Erickson (15th). Erickson then scored another unassisted goal, her 17th of the season, 5 minutes later to open the William Carey lead to 2-0.

The Lady Crusaders continued to put pressure on the LSUS defense as Natalia Nino passed to Aimi Beresford as she scored her 7th goal of the season to give WCU a 3-0 advantage at the 18th minute.

William Carey added one more goal at the 21st minute as Jeana Erickson passed to Shayna Turner who scored her 3rd goal of the season to extend the Carey lead to 4-0 by the half.

WC started the second half where they left off as Aimi Beresford scored her second goal of the game and 8th of the season, with Gemma Metcalfe getting her 3rd assist of the season at the 53rd minute.

The final goal of the game was scored at the 83rd minute by Courtney Brinson (3rd of the season) as Giselle Bryce-Cotes was credited with her first assist of the season.

With the win Carey improves to 13-1-1

The Lady Crusader are back in action on Tuesday October 27th as they celebrate senior night against Belhaven College. Kick-off is set for 7:00 pm at Crusader Field.
