Hattiesburg, MS- William Carey tennis opened fall practice on September 1st  and this past week took part in their first scrimmage matches since the programs reinstatement to the intercollegiate athletic program this past summer.

This past weekend Anton Klochkov and Dominik Kardell took part in the Southern Miss Fall Invitational. Klochkov defeated Etham Frenstein 6-4, 6-1 and Gui Rebolo 6-1,1-2 (retire). Klochkov third match was called due to rain. Kardell dropped both of his opening matching before bouncing back and defeating Chris Somers 6-2  6-3

On Tuesday the Carey men defeated Jones Jr College 7-2 and then dismantled East Central Community College 9-0 on Wednesday.

"All the players are practicing well and have put a lot of effort in. We are heading in the right direction to have a successful season," said first year head coach Christoph Schaefer.

The Crusaders will be back in action on Friday October 9th  as they take on Hinds Community College.
