Hattiesburg, MS- #19 William Carey Lady Crusaders netted five first half goals on their way to a 7-1 rout of the visiting Thomas University Lady Nighthawks Saturday afternoon at the WCU Soccer Complex.

The goals were early and often for the Lady Crusaders as Jeana Erickson netted the opener in the 8th minute and Shannon Steffen followed a minute later to put Carey up 2-0. Nine minutes later in the 18th minute Natalia Nino netted the first of two goals the second coming in the 30th minute. Linda Garcia capped the first half onslaught by blasting home a penalty kick in the 31st minute.

Carey added a goal from Shayna Turner in the 49th minute and Barbra Jablanski netted the first goal of her Lady Crusader career in 65th minute to cap the scoring for Carey.

Thomas University Eliana Nevarez added their lone goal in the 73rd minute.

With the win Carey improves to 6-2-1 on the season and have won six straight games.

The Lady Crusaders return to action on Monday as they take on Trevecca Nazarene University. Kick-off is set for 5:00 pm at the WCU Soccer Complex.
