Hattiesburg, MS- Senior forward Jeana Erickson has been Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for the week ending on September 20th.
Erickson, a native of Biloxi, recorded four goals and one assist as Carey went 3-0 last week. On Tuesday Erickson recorded two goals as the Lady Crusaders defeated Southern Baton Rouge, 5-0 and against then No. 8 Northwood Erickson added two more including the golden goal game winner in the 104th minute for a 4-3 Carey win. In her final game of the week Erickson added an assist as Carey knocked off SCAD, 3-2.
This is Erickson second GCAC Offensive Player of the Week selection this season and third straight for the Lady Crusaders. Last week junior midfielder Natalia Nino earned honors while keeper Jordan Morrison was named GCAC Defensive Player of the Week earlier as well.
The Lady Crusaders, ranked sixth in the latest NAIA Coaches Poll, are back in action this weekend taking part in the Mobile Soccer Classic battling No. 2 Azusa Pacific and Oklahoma City at the Orange Beach Sportsplex in Orange Beach, AL.
