Hattiesburg, Miss. - #2 William Carey improved to 5-0 on the season as they downed Louisiana State University-Shreveport, 2-0 in non-conference action Wednesday afternoon at Crusader Field.

The Crusaders went to work on LSUS in the first half as they outshot the visitors, 8-4 with Ben Whalley (FR/England) netting the lone goal of the half to put WCU up 1-0 at the break.

Carey put the game away for good in the second half, when Joaquin Ruiz Cabello (JR/Malaga, Spain) knocked home a Michael Conejero (JR/Spain) pass in the 65th minute for the final goal of the day.

Carey dominated play on the offensive end as they out shot the Pilots 15-9. Grant Adam (SR/Waveland, Miss.) stopped the only two shots on goal by LSUS to earn the shutout win in goal.  

The Crusaders will be back in action on Saturday, as they take on LSU- Alexandria. Kick-off is set for 7:00 pm at the Johnny Downs Sports Complex.
