Hattiesburg, Miss.- Playing their first true home game in program history, William Carey University volleyball opened the Ben Waddle Sports Facility in style with a 3-1 win over Mississippi College in the SSAC Volleyball Game of the Week.

Carey secured the first two sets 25-23 before MC rallied to take the third set 25-21. The Lady Crusaders regrouped and would not be denied as they rolled to a 25-14 win in the fourth set to secure the match.

Chassidy Harris (SR/Houston, Tx.) led WCU with 15 kills while Gillian Tripp (FR/Yuba City, Calif.) added 21 assists and Mikaela Hall (JR/Bay St. Louis, Miss.) totaled 16 assists. Caroline Golden (FR/Mandeville, La.) finished with 12 digs and 8 kills.

WCU is back in action on Tuesday, September 12, as they open SSAC play on the road against the University of Mobile.
