Hattiesburg, Miss. - Silvia Leonessi (SO/Esbjerg, Denmark)'s golden goal one minute into overtime was the difference as #10 William Carey University defeated the University of St. Thomas, 3-2 in non-conference action Thursday night at Crusader Field.

Kaylee Zettler (SO/Meridian, Miss.) staked Carey to a 2-0 lead with goals in the 25th and 48th minute of play however, St. Thomas would not go away. Rachael Bell trimmed the lead to 2-1 with a goal in the 71st minute and Mariana Sanches tied the game in the 78th minute of play.

In the overtime, Kelly Stubbington (JR/Hornchurch, England) sent a pass deep into the Celts defense and Leonessi gathered it and slid the game winning goal past UST keeper Jordan Thompson.

WCU is back in action tomorrow at 4pm as they take on Wiley College at Crusader Field.
