MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Southern States Athletic Conference announced the final standings for the 2016-17 SSAC Commissioner's Cup, presented by MMI Dining.

 

William Carey (Miss.) took home the overall and men's sports cups, while Mobile (Ala.) grabbed the women's sports cup.

The Basics

  • Scoring formula evaluates the percentage of potential points earned by each institution in the sports it sponsors
  • Bonus points are given for sports sponsored and conference tournament championships won in sports that also have regular season titles
     

Additional Notes

  • William Carey won five SSAC Regular Season Championships and four tournament titles
  • The Crusaders finished outside of the top-three in only three sports during the year
  • On the women's side, Mobile won three championships and posted seven top-three finishes
