Hattiesburg, Miss.- The 2017 season was a year to remember for William Carey University men's tennis.

Carey captured the 2017 SSAC regular season and tournament championship titles, appeared in their fifth straight national tournament, and was 7th in the final NAIA Coaches Top 25 poll.

Recently the NAIA announced that Vladyslav Ladygin (JR/Kyiv, Ukraine) earned First Team NAIA All-American while Lucien Samitier (FR/Montpellier, France) was named Second Team All-American. Ladygin, Samitier and Paul Chabaud (FR/Larmor Plage, France) were also named All-Americans by the ITA.

Last April, Carey swept all individual SSAC honors. Ladygin was named SSAC Player of the Year and Newcomer of the Year Award. Hugo Robuchon (FR/Limoges, France) earned SSAC Freshman of the Year honors, while Head Coach Marc Lux was named  SSAC Coach of the Year. 

Ladygin, Samitier, Robuchon, Chabaud, and Christian Hansson (SO/Vanersborg, Sweden) earned SSAC First-Team All Conference

Chabaud and Robuchon were named to the SSAC All-Freshman Team.

Carey finished the 2017 season at 16-6.
