Hattiesburg, Miss.- No. 2 seed Southern Oregon came up with timely hits as they defeated No. 1 seed William Carey, 3-0 to advance to the championship game of the Hattiesburg Bracket in the 2017 NAIA Softball National Tournament Opening Round.

The Raiders Gabby Sandovall kept WCU off balance all game as she scattered seven hits in the shutout.

Southern Oregon got on the board in the bottom of the third inning as Kayleen Smith ripped a RBI single to right field to score Kelsey Randall. The Radiers added to their lead in the fifth inning with a two run double by Harlee Donovan.

Carey had their chances but stranded eight runners on the game.

WCU ends its season at 43-11.
