Kansas City, MO. – The William Carey University Baseball team led the NAIA Santa Barbara Region with six selections on the regional team. A total of 16 players were named NAIA Santa Barbara Regional Team.

Senior Kyle Deckwa headlined the All-Regional team after throwing 10.0 innings in Santa Barbara. Deckwa finished the tournament with 9 strikeouts and gave up zero earned runs. Senior JD Little capped his career with a complete game effort to eliminate the top seed and host team, Westmont College. Little struck out 10 and allowed three runs in 9 innings.

James Land led the Crusaders offensively in Santa Barbara. The junior first baseman hit .300 for the tournament while tying an NAIA record with 5 home runs in a regional. Land finished with 7 RBI for the week. Adrian Brown hit .420 for the week with one double, 4 stolen bases, and a 9th inning home run to eliminate College of Idaho. Mitch Little led all Crusaders in batting average after hitting .580 for the tournament with 2 doubles and 3 RBI. Wes Brown rounds out the All- Tournament team for Carey after batting .330 for the week.

Crusaders completed their season with a 40-21 record and a final NAIA ranking of 20th.
